Best Fire Stick and Android TV Apps: August 2026 List
Two new apps land in the store, StreamFlix comes back from the dead, and FlixVision keeps serving 10,000 plus live channels. The August 2026 list, sorted.
New month, fresh list. August brings two brand new apps to the store, a comeback nobody saw coming, and updates to apps I use every single day.
iStreamFlare: new in the store
First of the two new arrivals. iStreamFlare mixes some live TV channels with movies and TV shows, so it is a decent one-app starting point if you want a bit of everything in one place. It is in the store now.

SK Tech: new, built for live TV and sports
The second new arrival leans the other way. SK Tech is mostly live TV with a heavy sports tilt, which makes it the one to grab before game day. It also earns a spot in the sports section further down, and that is not an accident.

StreamFlix is back
Everyone thought StreamFlix was gone. It is back, and better than it ever was. The big change: it now works on all Android TV devices with full remote support, so you drive the whole app with the remote in your hand instead of fighting a cursor.
If you never set it up, the StreamFlix install guide walks you through it. And the full walkthrough of everything the new version can do is in the new August video on newtechxclub.com. One email at the gate unlocks the whole library, and the video is waiting inside.

FlixVision keeps rolling
Still going strong, and still one of my top three. Over 10,000 live TV channels plus a deep bench of movies and TV shows, all in one app. If you only keep a couple of apps on your device, FlixVision stays on the shortlist.

Cinema HQ 7.7 just landed
Cinema HQ jumped to version 7.7 and it is better than ever. If it has been sitting on your device for a while, install the new version over the top and your setup stays put.

The sports lineup right now
If you used SportsFire or StreamFire for games, add the current crop to your lineup: SportzX, AK47, SK Tech and more, all sitting in the Live Sports live TV section in LinkDrop. Open linkdrop.store, hit Explore the collection, and check that section before the next match.
Get everything on this list the easy way
On a Fire Stick, skip typing app links one at a time:
- Easiest: type newstore.tv into Downloader to install TV Wizard, my own setup app. It installs the app stores for you in one go.
- LinkDrop on its own: open linkdrop.store and click Explore the collection. No code needed.
On an ONN box or Android TV, Browsy is the move: type a short code, get the app. The full code list covers everything, and since the 1.4 update you can save this month's picks as favorites and share the whole list with one code.
New to all of this? The sideloading guide and the app stores rundown get you from zero to loaded.
One more thing before you fill your device with live TV apps: IPVanish is the VPN I run on my own stick. It keeps what you stream and sideload private from your internet provider.
That is August. Tell me your favorite app of the month in the comments, and if there is a great app I do not have in the store yet, name it. The best suggestion might headline next month's list.
Stay private on your Fire Stick with IPVanish
It's the VPN I run on my own Fire Stick. It hides what you stream and sideload from your internet provider, and unblocks a lot more.
Frequently asked questions
Do these apps work on both a Fire Stick and an ONN or Google TV box?+
Yes, through the stores. LinkDrop and TV Wizard cover the Fire Stick side, and Browsy covers ONN and Android TV with short codes. StreamFlix in particular now runs on all Android TV devices.
What is the fastest way to install everything here?+
On a Fire Stick, type newstore.tv into Downloader and let TV Wizard set up the stores for you. On an ONN or Android TV box, Browsy plus the code list is the quickest path.
Where is the full StreamFlix walkthrough?+
In the August best apps video on newtechxclub.com. Enter your email at the gate and the library opens, the video is in there. The written install guide covers the setup itself.
How often does this list update?+
Monthly. Your favorites and suggestions in the comments shape next month's list, so speak up.
